BVC's mission was to identify a profitable market and subsequently, in that same market, identify a target for acquisition. BVC's conclusion was, that the "care-at-home" market ticked off all the boxes being a growing segment in the healthcare industry. These businesses provide skilled and non-skilled care at home to an often aging population, as well as staffing solutions for facilities.
In August 2017, after lenghty pursuits and research, we closed on the purchase of a Home Health Agency. During the transition, we handled all financial matters. Subsequently, after the acquisition we managed all cash flows of the business. Daily responsibilities included P&L oversight, accounting, payroll and billing. Since the takeover, revenues have doubled and net income trebled. In May 2019, the roster counted over 100 employees. The value of the investment to the buyer, albeit also active in the business, has easily increased fifteen fold. In May 2019, we handed over full responsibility of the business to the shareholder.
